1. Induction day.
Some carers wanted more information about the referral process and finances. We have immediately acted on this by providing an induction day for all our new carers, our current carers are welcome to join. The induction day, which takes place post panel approval, will include the following topics:
Who’s Who
Charms & Logins
Recording
Training & TSDS
Placement process and matching preferences
Carer profiles
Foster carer finances
Payments Policy
Support & Out Of Hours
Foster Talk
Foster Carer Handbook
2. Child Matching
A small number of carers wanted us to improve the child matching process, we have now:
  • Made a matching report that will be filled in with all placements discussing the Child’s needs and the Foster Carer’s need. Any training required will be provided. Your SSW and manager will comment on these.
  • Post matching survey – we will be sending a survey link within two weeks of a placement for you to inform us on how we have performed.
  • Matching policy- we have updated our matching policy to a more detailed policy that will be implemented.
3. Improving communication and responding to queries:
  • We have a 24 hour out of hours line that you can contact on
  • Where your SSW may not be able, we have now made a support email where any questions you may have can be answered immediately. Support@caringheartsfostering.co.uk
  • We are introducing weekly live drop in sessions on zoom. This will take place every Thursday 11am. Anyone can join either privately or as a group. https://zoom.us/j/2901756238
  • Support groups are key to express your concerns. Please try to join our support groups as we act on your requests where possible.
  • During working hours your SSW is available and our office number is also available on 0208 810 6380.
  • Our quarterly newsletter also allows you to keep updated on current events and competitions. There is also links to contact us on the newsletter.
4. Training:
  • We offer training at our venue on a monthly basis
  • We also have online training for any training needs you have. Please inform us of what you would like and we can allocate it to you.
  • You currently have more than 25 trainings online available to you.
  • We are also bringing online monthly trainings for all to attend from June 2020.
5. Follow ups
  • All carers should have a weekly call with their SSW to follow up on how they are doing
  • All carers should have a monthly visit from their SSW.
We hope the above clarifies the points raised in your survey. We would love to discuss this with you further. Please contact support@caringheartsfostering.co.uk or the office number 0208 810 6380 for any further enquiries.
