Child Safety

All children in care need to feel safe and be safe. Foster carers are expected to actively safeguard children and promote their welfare. The carers need to make positive relationship with foster children, spend one to one quality time with them, talk about their life at school and home, explore their wishes and feelings and generate a culture of trust. Foster children should be explained the house rules and boundaries in clear and simple words. 
It is important to monitor children’s behaviour and to be aware of any signs that might indicate a child is at risk. Children spend much time on social media, therefore the carers should monitor it and use parental control for safety. Should the foster carer face any difficulties, they may seek advice from professionals around the child.
